cerebrospinal trunk

The term cerebrospinal trunk refers to one of three substructures of the central nervous system (CNS) subdivided on the basis of dissection ( Swanson-2004 ). It is composed of the interbrain, the midbrain, the pons, the medulla and the spinal cord. In the Functional CNS Model - Rat the cerebrospinal trunk is subdivided into three systems: the sensory system, the behavioral state system, and the motor system. The other substructures of the CNS are the endbrain and the cerebellum.
