Wernicke's area
Acronym:
The term Wernicke's area refers to a functionally defined substructure of the cerebral cortex that includes portions of the supramarginal gyrus, the angular gyrus, the superior temporal gyrus and the middle temporal gyrus. It is involved in language comprehension ( Carpenter-1983 ).
