precerebellar nuclei

The term precerebellar nuclei refers to nuclei of the hindbrain that have substantial projections to the cerebellum. These include the nucleus intercalatus, the nucleus prepositus, the sublingual nucleus, the principal sensory nucleus of the trigeminal nerve, the solitary nucleus, the locus ceruleus and the raphe nuclei (histological) ( Carpenter-1983 ).
