internal sagittal stratum

The term internal sagittal stratum refers to a fiber tract within the cerebral white matter of the cerebrum that contains fibers projecting from the occipital lobe to the superior colliculus and the lateral geniculate body. It is not readily distinguished in myelin-stained cross-sections ( Carpenter-1983 ).
