parasplenial lobules

The term parasplenial lobules refers to cortical folds on the medial surface of the parietal lobe of the human. Identified by dissection, they are located adjacent to the splenial sulcus and the parieto-occipital sulcus in the transition zone between the posterior cingulate gyrus and the cuneus. They are not found in the macaque ( Vogt-1995 ) or in the smooth cerebral cortex of the rat or mouse ( NeuroNames ).
