The term tegmental gray of the pons refers to a composite substructure of the pontine tegmentum that includes the motor nucleus of the tegmentum, the median raphe nucleus, the inferior central nucleus, the nucleus papilliformis, the subceruleus nucleus, the locus ceruleus, the lateroventral tegmental nucleus, the dorsal tegmental nucleus and the ventral tegmental nucleus ( Crosby-1962 ).
