forebrain commissures

The term forebrain commissures refers to a set of three or four fiber pathways that cross the midline of the cerebrum. They include the anterior commissure, the corpus callosum and the hippocampal commissure ( Crosby-1962 ). Some authors distinguish the basal telencephalic commissure from the anterior commissure ( Lamantia-1990 ).
