thalamic commissure

The term thalamic commissure refers to an elaborate set of white and gray commissures that, in many species, connect nuclei of the thalamus with corresponding nuclei in the contralateral thalamus, including subnuclei of the anterior nuclear group, the midline nuclear group and the ventral nuclear group. It may correspond to the interthalamic adhesion of the primate ( Crosby-1962 ).
