The term interstitiospinal tract refers to a fiber pathway that originates primarily in the interstitial nucleus of Cajal and descends mainly ipsilaterally in the medial longitudinal fasciculus to the spinal cord. In the spinal cord it descends in the anterior white column and terminates in lamina VII and lamina VIII of the sacral segments ( Paxinos-2004; Dorland-2004 ).
