The term aberrant fibers (Dejerine) refers to fine fiber bundles that separate from corticobulbar fibers at different levels of the midbrain and pons and join to form the mesencephalic aberrant tract and the pontine aberrant tract as parts of the medial lemniscus ( Kahle-2001 ).
