ependyma

The term ependyma refers to a single layer of cuboidal cells that lines the ventricles of brain, the cerebral aqueduct, and the central canal of the spinal cord; it originates from the ependymal layer of the neural tube ( Carpenter-1983 ). see also subependymal zone.
