The term magnocellular part of the motor nucleus of the trigeminal nerve refers to one of two parts of the motor nucleus of the trigeminal nerve in the rat. The other is the parvicellular part of the motor nucleus of the trigeminal nerve. Functionally both belong to the somatic motoneuron pools of the brainstem motor system ( Swanson-2004 ).
