The term superior parietal white matter refers to the part of parietal white matter that is located deep to the superior parietal lobule on the dorsolateral aspect of the parietal lobe. Defined by dissection and stains for myelin, it is found in the human ( Oishi-2009 ) and the macaque ( NeuroNames ). Equivalent structures are not found in the smooth cerebral cortex of the rat or mouse ( NeuroNames ).
