extrapyramidal motor system (EXM)
The term extrapyramidal motor system refers to a functionally defined group of structures and tracts in the brain, exclusive of the pyramidal system, that are directly involved in motor function. Five different definitions and a thorough discussion of their evolution are presented in Anthoney-1994.
