Cytoarchitecturally it is bounded medially by the area 36 of Brodmann (human), laterally by the area 21 of Brodmann (human), rostrally by the area 38 of Brodmann (human) and caudally by the area 37 of Brodmann (human) ( Brodmann-1909 ).
