The term lateral zone of the cerebellum refers to a subdivision of the cerebellum based on connectivity. It includes the dentate nucleus and the most lateral portions of the anterior lobe of the cerebellum and posterior lobe of the cerebellum with which the nucleus is reciprocally connected ( Carpenter-1983 ).
