canthomeatal plane

The term canthomeatal plane denotes a horizontal plane for brain stereotaxis based on external landmarks. Used primarily in human computed tomography, it passes through the Canthi (lateral angles of the eyelids) and the centers of the external auditory canals ( Schiebler-1999 ).
