area 30 of Brodmann (human) (30)

The term area 30 of Brodmann (human) refers to a subdivision of the cytoarchitecturally defined retrosplenial area of the cerebral cortex. In the human it is located in the isthmus of the cingulate gyrus. Cytoarchitecturally it is bounded internally by the area 29 of Brodmann-1909 (human), dorsally by the area 23 of Brodmann (human) and ventrolaterally by the area 36 of Brodmann (human) ( Brodmann-1909 ). Brodmann did not find area 30 in the guenon, an Old World monkey like the macaque, but did find it in the lemur, a prosimian ( Brodmann-1909 ).
