vermal zone of the cerebellum

The term vermal zone of the cerebellum refers to a subdivision of the cerebellum based on connectivity. It includes the fastigial nucleus and the vermis of the anterior lobe and vermis of the posterior lobe of the cerebellum with which that nucleus exchanges projections ( Carpenter-1983 ).
