pars reticulata (Crosby)

The term pars reticulata (Crosby) represents an alternative segmentation of the substantia nigra in which the term applies only to a part of the structure. In this case, it refers to the more medial of two parts of the pars reticulata. The other is the pars lateralis of the substantia nigra ( Crosby-1962, Poirier-1983 ).
