The term ascending branch of the inferior precentral sulcus refers to one of two parts of the inferior precentral sulcus identified by dissection in the human ( Matelli-2004 ). The other part is the descending branch of the inferior precentral sulcus. Located caudally in the frontal lobe, it is the portion that extends dorsally from the intersection of the vertical inferior precentral sulcus with the horizontal inferior frontal sulcus. It is the boundary between the precentral gyrus and the middle frontal gyrus. It is not found in the macaque.
