frontal operculum (Roberts)

The term frontal operculum (Roberts) refers to an alternate definition of the frontal operculum in the human. It is the same as the standard definition in that it includes the three parts of the inferior frontal gyrus that overlie the insula, but differs in that it excludes the precentral operculum ( Roberts-1970 ).
