area Gu of Paxinos (macaque)

The term area Gu of Paxinos (macaque) refers to an area or granular cortex on the rostral inner surface of the frontal operculum that is regarded as the location of gustatory cortex in the macaque ( Paxinos-2009a ). It is identified by its internal structure and by input from the thalamic gustatory nucleus, the parvicellular part of the ventral posteromedial nucleus (VPMpc) ( Pritchard-2012 ).
