posterior parolfactory sulcus

posterior parolfactory sulcus (ppos)

The term posterior parolfactory sulcus refers to a vertical groove on the medial surface of the frontal lobe below the rostrum of the corpus callosum. Demonstrated by dissection, it separates the subcallosal gyrus rostrally from the paraterminal gyrus (also known as the 'subcallosal gyrus'), caudally. It is found only in the human ( Carpenter-1983 ).
