postcentral operculum

The term postcentral operculum refers to the ventrolateral lip of the postcentral gyrus (POeG), which is one of two parts of the subcentral operculum (OPRsc) in the human ( Roberts 1970 ) and the macaque ( NeuroNames ). It is not present in the smooth cerebral cortex of the rat or mouse (NeuroNames ). Updated 24 Aug 2004.
