area TEm of Seltzer (TEm)

The term area TEm of Seltzer refers to the most caudal and dorsal of the five subdivisions of area TE of Seltzer that is observable on the surface of the temporal lobe in the macaque. Defined on the basis of cytomyeloarchitecture, it is located in the middle temporal gyrus and extends into the lower bank of the superior temporal sulcus ( Seltzer-1978 ).
