area 17 of Mauss (17)

The term area 17 of Mauss refers to a subdivision of the occipital lobe of the macaque and the guenon; it is defined on the basis of myeloarchitecture. Mauss regarded it as topologically homologous to area 17 of Brodmann (guenon) ( Mauss-1908 ).
