area PB of Bonin (PB)

The term area PB of Bonin refers to an area of the cerebral cortex defined on the basis of cytoarchitecture in the macaque. It is located in the posterior wall of the central sulcus and extends as a narrow strip onto the surface of the hemisphere caudal to the sulcus. It is thin granulous cortex ( Bonin-1947 ).
