area TH of Bonin (TH)

The term area TH of Bonin refers to an area on the ventral surface of the temporal lobe of the macaque that is defined on the basis of cytoarchitecture. It is very similar to area TF of Boning-1947 differing only in that its internal pyramidal layer (V) is more dense. The authors regarded it as homologous to the human area TH of Economo-1929 ( Bonin-1947 ).
