area TC of Bonin (TC)

The term area TC of Bonin refers to an area of the superior temporal gyrus in the macaque defined by cytoarchitecture. It is a relatively thick area of granulous cortex located in the inferior wall of the lateral fissure from about the middle of the insula posteriorly for a distance of 10 to 12mm ( Bonin-1947 ).
