Brodmann's areas

The term Brodmann's areas refers to segmentation of the cerebral cortex of the human and several nonhuman species by Brodmann-09 (human revised in Brodmann-10). It consists of about 50 subdivisions based on cytoarchitecture and myeloarchitecture. In NeuroNames, each area is represented by an English translation of the Latin term assigned by Brodmann followed by Brodmann's number, e.g., agranular frontal area 6.
