The term cingulum, or Cingulum, refers to a fiber pathway in the cerebral white matter that connects portions of the cingulate gyrus, the parietal lobe and the frontal lobe with the parahippocampal gyrus and adjacent structures of the temporal lobe. It is composed of the Cingulum ammonale and the Cingulum limitans. It is not readily distinguished in myelin-stained cross-sections. |
