corticopontine fibers

The term corticopontine fibers, or Fibrae corticopontinae, refers to a fiber pathway from the cerebral cortex to the pons. It includes frontopontine fibers, parietopontine fibers, temporopontine fibers and occipitopontine fibers. These and the corticospinal tract and corticobulbar fibers, make up the longitudinal pontine fibers of the basal part of pons. They are not readily distinguished in myelin-stained cross-sections.
