intermediate postcentral area 1


The term intermediate postcentral area 1, or Area postcentralis intermedia, refers to a subdivision of the cytoarchitecturally defined postcentral region of cerebral cortex. In the human it is located in the postcentral gyrus where it is bounded cytoarchitecturally by the rostral postcentral area 3 and the caudal postcentral area 2 and, at its ventral tip, by the subcentral area 43.
