The term layers of superior colliculus refers to four cyto- and myeloarchitecturally defined substructures of the superior colliculus: the zonal layer of superior colliculus, the superficial gray layer of superior colliculus, the white layer of superior colliculus and the stratum lemnisci of superior colliculus.
