long association bundles


The term long association bundles refers to a set of fiber tracts in the cerebral white matter that are reasonably easy to dissect but that are not readily distinguished in myelin-stained histological cross-sections. They include the cingulum, the uncinate fasciculus of forebrain, the superior longitudinal fasciculus, the inferior longitudinal fasciculus, the superior occipitofrontal fasciculus and the inferior occipitofrontal fasciculus.
