main cingulate gyrus

The term main cingulate gyrus applies to the gyrus closer to the corpus callosum in the approximately 35% of humans who have a double cingulate gyrus. It parallels the superior cingulate gyrus from which it is separated by the cingulate sulcus. It is bounded internally by the callosal sulcus.
