medial lemniscus


The term medial lemniscus, or lemniscus medialis, refers to a composite structure containing the fiber tracts that project from the cuneate nucleus and the gracile nucleus to the ventral posterior nucleus of the thalamus. It consists of the medial lemniscus of midbrain, the medial lemniscus of pons and the medial lemniscus of medulla.
