parietal area 7 (M)

The term parietal area 7 (M), or Area parietalis (M), refers to a subdivision of the cytoarchitecturally defined parietal region of cerebral cortex in the monkey (Cercopithecus). It occupies most of the parietal lobe excluding the postcentral gyrus. Brodmann considered it homologous to the superior parietal area 7 (H), supramarginal area 40 (H) and angular area 39 (H) of the human cortex.
