precentral area


The term precentral area refers to a portion of the cerebral cortex that is located in the precentral gyrus and portions of the superior frontal gyrus, the middle frontal gyrus, and the inferior frontal gyrus. It includes the precentral region (gigantopyramidal area 4 and agranular frontal area 6) and perhaps parts of the intermediate frontal area 8, the opercular area 44 and the triangular area 45.
