The term prefrontal cortex (Crosby) refers to a cytoarchitecturally defined composite substructure of the frontal lobe. It includes the granular frontal area 9, the frontopolar area 10, the prefrontal area 11 (Brodmann) and the area 12 (H) (Brodmann).
