The term prelimbic area 32 (M), or Area praelimbica (M), refers to a subdivision of the cytoarchitecturally defined cingulate region of cerebral cortex in the monkey (Cercopithecus). Similar to the dorsal anterior cingulate area 32 in the human, it forms an outer arc around the anterior cingulate gyrus that bounds the genu of corpus callosum. It is not, however, cytoarchitecturally homologous to that area in the human. |
