superior cingulate gyrus


The term superior cingulate gyrus refers to the gyrus more distant from the corpus callosum in the approximately 35% of humans who have a double cingulate gyrus. It parallels the main cingulate gyrus from which it is separated by the cingulate sulcus. It is bounded externally by the superior cingulate sulcus.
