The term superior longitudinal fasciculus, or Fasciculus longitudinalis superior, refers to a fiber pathway in the cerebral white matter. It is composed of fibers that connect the cortex of the frontal lobe with cortex of the occipital lobe and the temporal lobe. Some authors refer to the connection with the temporal lobe as the arcuate fasciculus. It is not readily distinguished in myelin-stained cross-sections.
