thalamic commissure

The term thalamic commissure refers to an elaborate set of white and gray commissures that, in many species, connect thalamic nuclei with the corresponding nuclei on the opposite side of the brain, including subnuclei of the anterior nuclear group, the midline nuclear group and the ventral nuclear group. It may correspond to the interthalamic adhesion of the primate.
