The term ventricles of brain refers to cavities within the brain that intercommunicate and contain cerebrospinal fluid. They include the left lateral ventricle and right lateral ventricle of the telencephalon, the third ventricle, which separates the left and right portions of the diencephalon and the fourth ventricle, which lies between the cerebellum, the pons and the medulla oblongata.
