The term vomeronasal organ refers to a receptor organ sensitive to pheromones that is located in the nasal mucosa of macrosmatic mammals and has been recently rediscovered in the human. In macrosmotic mammals it connects to the brain through the accessory olfactory bulb, vomeronasal nerve and terminal nerve.
