parvicellular division of the basal nucleus (AMGblpv)

The term parvicellular division of the basal nucleus refers to subdivision of the medial part of the basal amygdalar nucleus. It is one of two substructures distinguished on the basis of cytoarchitecture and cholinergic markers. The other is the paralaminar nucleus of the amygdala ( Amaral-1992 ).
