paralaminar nucleus of the amygdala (AMGblpl)

The term paralaminar nucleus of the amygdala refers to a subdivision of the medial part of the basal amygdalar nucleus. It is one of two substructures distinguished on the basis of cytoarchitecture and cholinergic markers. The other is the parvicellular division of the basal nucleus (Amaral) ( Amaral-1992 ).
