area 10M of Paxinos (10M)

The term area 10M of Paxinos refers to one of three subdivisions of area 10 of Paxinos in the macaque ( Paxinos-2009a ). It is located on the surface of the most rostral part of the straight gyrus as it joins the superior frontal gyrus at the frontal pole. The other subdivisions are area 10D of Paxinos and area 10o, which the authors name 10V. It corresponds topologically to the ventromedial quarter of area 10p in the human ( Ongur-2003 ).
